Here is what makes our program unique: Foreword’s IndieFab Awards are solely focused on books from independent publishers and university presses (yes, that includes very small and self publishers). The final decisions in sixty-five categories come from nearly two hundred booksellers and librarians—skilled book professionals who understand what readers want. Initial entries are narrowed down to fifteen finalists in each category by the Foreword Reviews team of editors. Finalists are then shipped to sixty-five different sets of booksellers and librarians who determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners. This panel of industry experts uses the same criteria for judging as they would use in their own acquisitions process.
